I have a similar is not the same problem Fire/Tobi. I have to run /etc/init.d/networking restart for the network devices to show up. Also, I have the enet driver as a module. On the initial boot after building an sd card, the ethernet comes up fine, but /etc/modules is not appended with the driver and it has to be added manually. To make it more fun, /etc/modules is overwritten by whatever postinstall is doing, so I cant just set the file when making the sd card. -----Original Message----- From: Richman1234 [mailto:ric...@na...] Sent: Wednesday, June 09, 2010 2:52 PM To: gum...@li... Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] auto ifup eth0 OK, I went a different direction. I tracked down where 'ifup' is initaly called. It is called in the rcS.d/S40networking which is a link to /ect/init.d/networking. In this script 'ifup -a' is called, which is suppose to bring up all network interfaces. However, when I execute 'ifup -a' it does not work (meaning eth0 does not come up). So, I changed /ect/int.d/networking to read 'ifup eth0', and that worked. I just need to see what happens when I set up wireless. Thanks for the help. rich105 wrote: > > And in case you missed it, there was a thread yesterday titled > "Autologin and execute binary" that gave a solution on how to run > something at startup. > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > -------- ThinkGeek and WIRED's GeekDad team up for the Ultimate > GeekDad Father's Day Giveaway.
