Hi all: I am very new to Gumstix dev board and I just started working on this from this week. I just connected the Overo Fire through USB to my Ubuntu machine and was examining the initial contents. I then tried to build an environment and also a basic image (gumstix-basic-image) as described in http://gumstix.net/wiki/index.php?title=Build_Environment_Ubuntu_8.10. The build failed and when the link asks me to modify some files, I do not see the entire tmp folder. The Ubuntu is a fresh installation that I installed for this specific purpose. Can someone tell me where I have gone wrong? I tried to build an environment as mentioned in http://www.gumstix.net/Documentation/view/Overo-Setup-and-Programming/Setting-up-a-build-environment/109.html. I was able to do this and build a omap3-console-image after the build failed during GTK+ which I rectified after reinstalling a GTK+ library. I also saw at a couple of places that we can also build a omap3-desktop-image which I have not tried as of yet. I wanted to know the differences between the three above mentioned images. All help is appreciated. Have a great day! Regards, Shashikiran Srinivasa |
