We haven't made a price for it yet but you can check out pictures of it here: http://www.gizmoforyou.com/page.php?8 Yes Yes, that's a Gumstix inside that :) Tell me what you think :) That goes for everyone :) -----Original Message----- From: Drew [mailto:dr...@dr...] Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 6:41 PM To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' Any chance I could take a look at it, is it going to be 3d printed or is there some other way that I don't know about? Must be my lucky day :D Drew -----Original Message----- From: Demetris Zavorotnichenko [mailto:fgc...@cy...] Sent: 09 February 2009 16:09 To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' Now that you said it just HAVE to :) -----Original Message----- From: Drew [mailto:dr...@dr...] Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 5:54 PM To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' I had no idea that somebody out there was already creating these things already. Now I just need to find somebody that's made a case already! :) Drew -----Original Message----- From: Demetris Zavorotnichenko [mailto:fgc...@cy...] Sent: 09 February 2009 15:43 To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' Thus the back of the PCB is completely smooth with no components. PS: Good News, we have an older version of this PCB, the 0.8 Expansion. JUST soldered one and posted it on the shop. It's experimental and you should read why here: http://www.gizmoforyou.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_8&p roducts_id=34 Hope this is useful to someone. Sorry one more question, does the Samsung LCD bend around and is able to mount somewhere behind the board? Or does it need to be kept parallel to the board like in picture on the website? Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Super-Buper Gumstix Expansion PCB Nothing, You can wire a Li-Po battery directly (1 cell),there is a pin for configuring if you want to charge from a Maxim IC (which also charges from the USB port)or to charge from the Power Socket directly. The power switching is made by a PIC16F88 and it's preprogrammed. You don't need any drivers other than the ones Gumstix already gives out. The LCD is the same as Gumstix Supplies so the configuration is also the same (LTE430WQ-F0C) The Touch Screen uses the UCB1400 so that's already supported by Gumstix The GSM module you control from one of the UART's of Verdex. The same goes for GPS. We have already run GTK apps on it such as NAVIT, and also used PPPD to connect to the internet through GPRS. If there is any support that Gumstix doesn't have on this then we do. Any help or documentation we also have on this. -----Original Message----- From: Drew [mailto:dr...@dr...] Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 4:07 PM To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Super-Buper Gumstix Expansion PCB Sounds good to me, I have to ask; but is there any issues you have with the board? Can a Li-Polymer battery be wired directly in, are you using a maxim chip for this? Are the drivers a doddle to get going, and do you provide these? Basically what else other than the Verdex, Samsung display and this daughter board would I need to get the stack going? Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Super-Buper Gumstix Expansion PCB We have 2 in stock. These we could ship by the end of the week, probably on Monday. If you need more and Don't mind waiting 2 - 3 weeks then we can ship it in about 2 weeks maybe sooner. (Sooner if the total orders we have in a week are lower than 20 units since we do these by hand for now) -----Original Message----- From: Drew [mailto:dr...@dr...] Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 1:27 PM To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' What's the likely hood of you having one ready in about 2-3 weeks to ship to the UK? Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Super-Buper Gumstix Expansion PCB There is nothing that we wouldn't want to announce , it's an Open Source community. The Final idea is to combine the GSM Tracker we have with this. Having a 2 Way GPS tracking with NAVIT, and displaying the tracker on a map on the Gumstix expansion PCB. -----Original Message----- From: Drew [mailto:dr...@dr...] Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 12:50 PM To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Super-Buper Gumstix Expansion PCB I want one! :) Will need to wait a few weeks till I can afford to buy one though, just moved house so money's tight. Could this replace the breakout board for the Verdex, so I can link this up to the gumstix then the Samsung LCD up to the daughter board? Will I need a PSP screen to use this? Looks like the perfect board me, I'm wanting to build a handheld computer but the Verdex has been sitting in a draw for about a year :S Are all the parts surface mount (probably a daft question, and if so how hard would you say it'd be to solder everything).. I've soldered a few ic's before but nothing majorly complex. How much would a board be, pre soldered? Subject: [Gumstix-users] Super-Buper Gumstix Expansion PCB Hi all. I posted a couple of days ago a question if anyone was interested in an Expansion PCB for Gumstix with a Bunch of extras. No one replied so please check it out: http://www.gizmoforyou.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_11 &products_id=8 We made a bunch of these for our own project and allot of them are just sitting there. Maybe it's useful to someone? If you want I can even make another Version with Everything Soldered on it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Create and Deploy Rich Internet Apps outside the browser with Adobe(R)AIR(TM) software.
