Hello, I am having trouble connecting to my gumstix. I followed the directions for bluetooth, http://docwiki.gumstix.org/index.php/LinuxBluetooth http://docwiki.gumstix.org/index.php/LinuxBluetooth and got that to work. Then I tried to create a bluetooth PAN, and now I can no longer see the gumstix via bluetooth. Next I tried connecting with the USB on the breakout-gs. I could not get this to work. From what I have gathered, a serial connection is my last resort, and is generally the preferred connection anyway. My computer does not have serial, so I would have to use USB-serial adapter. One post recommended this: http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/DataSheets/Modules/DS_TTL232R3V3.pdf http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/DataSheets/Modules/DS_TTL232R3V3.pdf . I believe this would be connected to the FFUART on the breakout-gs, correct? (and swap the Rx and Tx)? Am I understanding everything correctly? Is this adapter my best option? My host machine is XP running Ubuntu 8 with Vmware. I have a basix-bt and a breakout-gs.
