David bnep{0,1,2} only appear at the time that the connection is made, so you shouldn't try to bring these up on boot. There's one per pan client connection. I'll review the docs tonight when I have my gumstix handy. fwiw, I've been using a setup that allows for multiple pan clients, but it's more complex.
