Hi DJ, I'd like to add a power diode to my setup--4 AA NiMH batteries. I find that fully charged they put out over 5.25V, so dropping that down a bit would be desirable. Exactly what kind of diode are you using? Current rating, voltage rating? Is there a part number that you can recommend? Thanks for your help, John Alfredo -----Original Message----- From: gum...@li... In my furnace, I used a big power diode to drop 0.7v from the main 5v supply, giving 4.3v for the gumstix + netcf. It has two extra benefits: 1. The drop increases as current increases, which is just what you need to keep the regulator cooler. 2. It protects against reverse voltage (of course, on my board the power supply is soldered in, so no chance of plugging it in wrong ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ gumstix-users mailing list gum...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/gumstix-users |
