Hello everybody, I was wondering if anybody has been able to boot off a root filesystem that has been deployed on a compact flash card on the Wifistix-CF. I am also interested in flashing the Gumstix via the compact flash, but it seems that is not possible at the moment. I have read over the thread [Gumstix-users] fatls returns "Unable to use ide" and it seems like the CPLD issue with the wifistix-CF would prevent booting and flashing from a compact flash card. If anyone has had success with either, I would be interested in finding out how you did it. The instructions on http://docwiki.gumstix.org/Root_filesystems#Using_the_CompactFlash_Card_as_the_Root_Filesystemcall for the use of pinit in U-Boot, but since you can't access the CF from U-Boot on the wifistix-CF, it doesn't seem like it would work. I have also seen [Gumstix-users] Problems with compact flash card as / (root), it almost seems like Birger has fixed the problems with U-Boot and the wifistix-CF to get to where he is, but I'm not sure. Logically, it makes sense that if you can't access the CF card from U-Boot, you can't boot off it, but maybe he can shed some light on this issue... Thanks in advance for the help!
