hi. Installed GPSstix and passive antenna. It works but readings are not accurate. I open http://maps.google.com/ and search my location with data got from GPSstix and it's pointing not where I am. It's ~20KM off. Here's output: # cat /dev/ttyS2 $GPRMC,164038.00,A,5923.62845,N,02430.98393,E,0.117,207.72,020607,,,A*6F $GPVTG,207.72,T,,M,0.117,N,0.217,K,A*3E $GPGGA,164038.00,5923.62845,N,02430.98393,E,1,08,2.16,32.4,M,19.9,M,,*60 $GPGSA,A,3,08,29,17,26,28,27,19,11,,,,,3.24,2.16,2.41*03 $GPGSV,4,1,14,08,28,097,32,29,62,199,34,09,20,275,,17,24,141,34*75 $GPGSV,4,2,14,30,,,29,26,68,224,34,28,62,087,34,27,06,100,29*44 $GPGSV,4,3,14,18,25,314,29,19,08,020,28,20,,,26,22,08,343,*4A $GPGSV,4,4,14,11,06,067,33,05,,,26*4A $GPGLL,5923.62845,N,02430.98393,E,164038.00,A,A*6C $GPZDA,164038.00,02,06,2007,00,00*6F (localtime is 19:40) First line, 5923.62845,N,02430.98393,E and searching in http://maps.google.com/ for 59.2362845, 024.3098393 I get wrong location. My place is really 59.39N, 24.54E and not 59.24N, 24.31E. Thats more than 20KM distance ! And it's always pointing me exactly there, so I believe antenna is OK. Do I have to take something in calculation? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/GPS-readings-are-wrong.-tf3857651.html#a10929108 Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
