The decision really is still pending. At this point we strongly favor the pre-installed setup; however, there is a company call HAN Touch that makes a standard 4-wire resistive which I think has the same flex pinout (I haven't checked) There is a challenge attaching ones own touchscreen: any lint inside stays there forever making a dot on the screen.
