How long might I expect > it to continue running? It normally takes a few seconds. However, when the realtime patch was delivered (R1239) it broke the high-resolution timing capability. This resulted in the minimum timer granularity being 10 msec. The uisp program has lots of places where it delays for 2-5 usec, and these were being dragged out to be 10 msec. I actually let uisp download Flash-LED.hex in the slow mode and it took something like 45minutes to an hour to actually work. Normally it takes less than 10 seconds. I fixed this in R1262 on the robostix side and craig delivered a patch in 1264 for uisp (so uisp now winds up doing an ioctl call down to the robostix driver which then calls udelay which isn't affected by the RT kernel. So, if your uisp/robostix_drv.ko version is older than R1264, then that's why you're seeing the problem. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |
