Hey Marc, I've just embarked on building a GUI using RubyCocoa framework - found a really good guide (http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2004/10/05/cocoa.html) which i followed then started afresh to make my own (http://wiki.ukhas.org.uk/projects:groundcontrol). Its a nice combination as the gui can be easily built with IB (in Xcode) and then ruby can do the rest. Taken me a couple of days but i reckon its worth it. Hope that helps James On Apr 9 2007, Marc Nicholas wrote: >Hi all, > >I know there's a few OSX users here...so I thought I'd ask: what would you >build a front-end GUI for robot control via Bluetooth in? > >I think my options are: > >- Native development (XCode) -- free, but likely impractical given my >limited coding skills ;) >- Real Basic -- relatively cheap @ US$99 >- TCL/TK -- free but a bit "clunky" > >Comments anyone? > >-marc > |
