The serial port on the tweener connect through to the gumstix port on the roboaudiostix, and not to the roboaudio itself. Cutting that trace cuts on of the lines going to the gumstix port (on the roboaudiostix), but leaves the tweener connected to the console on the gumstix itself. Personally, I think that the whole stack is a little ungainly with the tweener, and I prefer to use a serial adapter plugged into the gumstix port instead.
