Many thanks, I had the kernel option selected but it wasn't compiling in correctly (as far as I could see). It looks like (unless I'm mistaken) there is a typo in gumstix.c where you have: #ifdef CONFIG_FB_PXA_ALPS_CDOLLAR and #ifdef CONFIG_FB_ALPS_CDOLLAR I've changed it so they are both CONFIG_FB_PXA_ALPS_CDOLLAR and it seem to be happy now (no more -12 and my display works) Thanks for your help.
