I'm not sure it's ever worked.  That option is an artifact of the  
upstream buildroot, rather than one I've really been working to  
maintain.  Generally, the preferred way to do gumstix development is  
using the crosscompiler toolchain which the buildroot generates for  
you, rather than doing native compiles on the gumstix itself.   
Getting a native development environment working is something that's  
kind of a "you're on your own, to some extent" thing.
