Hi, This is an offshoot from the Ethernet Bandwidth thread. Pascal Brisset had suggested that he saw better performance with an older 2.6.11 kernel and that I could get one from an old root fs image. I downloaded the image and thought that I would mount it loopback, extract the old kernel and modules. Since the gumstix is the only linux box that I have with jffs on it I coppied the image (root_fs_arm.r773) to /mnt/mmc and tried to mount it. # pwd /mnt/mmc # ls root_fs_arm.r773 rootfs.arm_nofpu.jffs2 # ls -ld /mnt/r773 drwx------ 2 root root 0 Dec 31 16:15 /mnt/r773 # mount -o loop -t jffs2 /mnt/mmc/root_fs_arm.r773 /mnt/r773 mount: Couldn't setup loop device mount: Mounting (null) on /mnt/r773 failed: No such file or directory Does the gumstix have loopback? Any idea what I did wrong here? Thanks, John |
