I have been working this problem off and on for some time. There are two different problems The first problem seems to be with the vfat format of the CF card. If you reformat the CF with a EXT2 format some of the problems will go away. However the Segmentation fault seems to be a problem with the current kerne= l on the gumstix. I found the only build where Python does not give a Seg Fault is to go back to release 773. Then Python works without a problem.
