Hi there, So I have just recompiled a kernel and copied it onto the gumstix(NOT replacing the original) . So I got to the U-boot(ver 1.2.1) prompt, and did "fsload a2000000 (new Image) " and then bootm. So I got the usual expected message "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(31,2)" to which I would do "set bootargs console=ttyS0,115200n8 root=1f01 bootfstype=jffs2 saveenv bootm" But then , now I would instead get : " jffs2: Too few erase blocks (2) Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(31,1) " I have found only one post on the mailing list about this issue and it mentions not to use jerase, and use erase. I have tried re-flashing the Gumstix with a factory image and followed the procedure to do so strictly from the wiki, but now I keep getting the above error on unknown-block(31,1) Did I jeopardize the U-boot by any chance? Thanks Ian |
