I am trying to use the Gumstix with the audiostix and the network interface to encode the Line-in into MP3 and send it to the internet. Now I have issues with lack of power processing, but it could be compiler optimization I am missing. During compilation, I had to do ln -s arm-linux-uclibc-* to xscale-linux-uclibc-* because at one point, it couldn't find the xscale-* binary. That was the only change I have done from the svn buildroot I checked out plus adding my own .mak file for mp3 encoding . Now I was beable to encode at 22kbits/sec at 16khz, but that about it... anything higher is not working. I have the 400mhz gumstix. Anyone have hints on how I could improve my situation ?
