Let me guess -- you have an XM gumstix? If you update your u-boot to the latest from sf.net, then you should find a new command "jerase" which can be used to erase the part of the flash where the root_fs goes (but not the part where u-boot goes!) in a way which the JFFS2 filesystem will find friendly. This will eliminate that multi-minute wait during the first time the root_fs is mounted under linux. This was discussed about a week or so ago on the mailing list if you want to go dig the details of what's going on out of the archives. > Now to see if the LCD works! Good luck! |
