The player program is not "installing", but has to be loaded fresh each time. (Am using Vista Home Premium 32 bit.)
There is no right click, context menu to play a song file using the application.
It does not show up in any options menus for setting defaults or auto-play options.
It is not shown in the Programs Folder nor in the programs list from Start.
Is this the way it is supposed to work?
Is there ANY way to select a song and make it open in the program?
I switched to Media Player Classic- Home Theater version, and was able to set it as the default player for audio, using the right click on an MP3 file/ open with/ choose program and use it always options. Yeeha!
Got it here:
The method you used could be done with any program, including MPC. ;-)
There is no install for the MPC found here. It's just an executable that you download and stick somewhere, maybe make a shortcut to it and then run it. The proper way to associate files is using the program itself, and in MPC it's in the Formats panel of the Options. Just stick a checkmark next to the file type(s) you want it to open and you're done.
Go to: View / Options / Formats in both versions.
Thanks for that.
