I was using an older version of Guaydeque with no problems, but a few days ago I decided to upgrade to the latest SVN. After installing 0993-Karmic-1 (using PPA and Synaptic), I had gstreamer errors whenever I would try to play any format of music. I tried all kinds of additional gstreamer packages and reinstallations, but nothing worked... Finally I came across an idea to install gnome-media and since then I have not had any trouble with audio files playing.
I am running KDE 4.42, 64-bit Kubuntu 9.10 (with enlightenment desktop). I expect that most Guayadeque users have Gnome (or both Gnome and KDE) installed and therefore have not had any problems... but for KDE users like me, should you not make gnome-media a dependency of Guayadeque?

I have not added any dependency to gnome-media. Im guessing you was missing some gstreamer plugin and installing gnome-media installed it and fixed the problem but gnome-media is not needed.
