Hi, all. I use GTS to develop a code to simulate multiphase flows via Front-Tracking. In order to improve mass conservation, I use the Lindstrom & Turk algorithm for mesh simplification. However, while the algorithm seems to be quite insensitive to the volume_weight and boundary_weight parameters, I can't find a way to automate the shape_weight setup. For small values, it coarsens the surface to a tetrahedron. For greater values it works fine, but occasionally generates some elements with *extremely high aspect ratios*, reaching 1:1000 sometimes. Is this behavior expected? In order to overcome this problem, I apply a non-conservative coarsening step. However, the algorithm does nothing when only one or two tiny edges are found. Is there a trick to overcome this? Am I doing something wrong?
