What should we do if the iTunesDB get corrupted? (gtkpod/iTunes/other apps
error, oops in the firewire subsystem, blackout for example)

this function rebuild the DB from scratch, it doesn't care about 
the previous iTunesDB.

your function recover from an incongruent iTunesDB's state but
the iTunesDB must be valid, the function I'm writing wipe the old iTunesDB 
and rebuild it from scratch.
