[Gtkpod-questions] Help needed with 4th gen iPod Shuffle

Hi!  This is my first posting to this list.  I use Banshee 2.6.1 on
Ubuntu 13.10 Linux (64-bit) and up until recently, I was able to sync
music without issue.  Then, recently I'm not able to transfer music to
the iPod.  In Banshee, I can see the iPod just fine and I can play the
music that's on the iPod just fine. 

On my Ubuntu 13.10 system, I have libgpod 0.8.2 installed.

When I first got the iPod, I used iTunes on Windows XP to get it setup. 
Over the past few years, I've been able to add music to the iPod from
either iTunes on Windows XP or in Banshee on Ubuntu Linux.  For some
reason recently, when I try to update the iPod within Banshee, Banshee
converts the file to the appropriate format and tries to update the iPod
but it never completes.

Is there any way I can find out if libgpod is having some kind of
problem accessing the iPod's files?
