All, I've made a cvs branch for the 0.9.8 release. The 0.9.8 release candidates and the final will all be made from this branch. To move your cvs checkout to the release branch rather than MAIN use: $ cvs update -r branch-0-9-8 To move back to the MAIN branch use: $ cvs update -r MAIN While on one branch or the other cvs commits will only affect that branch. The reason for using a branch for a release is it allows us to make bug fix releases from the same branch later if needs be (like we had to do with 0.9.7.1). As a side benefit it also allows development to continue on the MAIN branch without affecting the code in the release branch. The downside is that any bug fix patches applied to the release branch also have to be merged into the MAIN branch.
