[cc'ing gtk2hs-users since it's an interesting question (and someone might feel motivated to have a go - hint hint!)] I don't think we've thought about that. We'll see how things progress. I expect Gtk+ 2.8 to include a Cairo dependency and we intend to support Gtk+ 2.8 so we'll want Cairo support. And I think it would be wise for us to start looking at the issues sooner rather than later. I'm not intending to look at it myself right away since I'm in the middle of other things, like adding lots of Gtk 2.4 and 2.6 APIs, the GClosure-signals stuff, doing API tweaks/breakage and getting the wx-style properties and events API completed. It'd be a nice project for anyone who wants to have a go, and it'll be really useful in the end. Cairo looks like it's quite nice and the Haskell API looks good too: http://www.cairographics.org/hscairo better than our current gdk drawing API. Duncan |
