I haven't tried 6.2 yet. But if you know how to fix 1. (I assume by doing 
some more CPP magic) then you can fix 2. by defining

foreignPtrToPtr = unsafeForeignPtrToPtr

for GHC 6.2. If this works, could I have the patches :-)?
