Gtk2Hs used to compile fine on Solaris, although I don't know if Open Solaris differs much. FreeBSD should work, too. > how solid is Max OS support - i remember that previously it was used > some tricks? MacOS X works fine using the X11 application. There is a immature port of Gtk+ to Aqua (native OS X windowing system) so that Gtk+ programs look a bit more like a native OS X application. People have successfully used this port with Gtk2Hs. That, however is all rather experimental. > can i compile some "generic" linux/unix version that will be able to > run on (almost) any linux/unix system? Not more than you can with other Unix program. In general, the system has to have the same architecture and the same version of libc. There are plenty of other dynamic libraries that need to be at least a specific version. > are 64-bit compiles supported for all these OSes? above-mentioned page > says about OS names but not about their wordsize The word size shouldn't be hard-coded anywhere in the code. After re-compilation, Gtk2Hs applications should work on either 32 or 64 bit platforms. Cheers, Axel. |
