Thanks for the explanations.
Only now, I am discovering that dcoutts, the one from which the
--disable-split-objs is coming from, is gtk2hs current maintainer,
Duncan Coutts.

That's what I believe based on my previous attempts, but being a
newbie to haskell and gtk2hs, I'd prefer someone more knowledgeble to
confirm this.
