OK, so that explains it :) Well to tell you the truth I would write GTK apps using PHP and Python simply because I can. They probably wouldn't be better though but you never know. The major reason for a GTK+ OS X port like I said would be for porting. I tried converting BitTorrent 4.0.0 which has switched to pyGTK, to wxPython but decided in the end it was easier to write a new GUI. Such is life.
