Hey Bob, I was more into porting current applications using GTK to OS X. Unless there were some really good advantages, I wouldn't write a new app using GTK or pyGTK unless there were some big advantages. But it's easier to port GTK to OS X than port each individual GTK app to a different toolkit. And I have tried PyObjC but use wxPython instead because it's cross platform while PyObjC is OS X only.
