#14 gthumb 2.0.1 fails to show directories with accents

I have created the following directory structure

/l/gthumb-test
/l/gthumb-test/abc
/l/gthumb-test/дце

When navitaging with gthumb to /l/gthumb-test
directory, only the "abc" directory is shown. There is
a blank icon for "дце" but it cannot be entered. The
following error message is printed if the empty "дце"
directory icon is clicked:

The gthumb 2.0.1 is installed from RH9 RPM.
