As a	developer of GTD sync
I like	to warn users that they have been editing a version of the todo.txt file before last synchronisation
so that	they are aware this could lead to unexpected results like next actions characteristics turning back to previous values.

This would require a dummy todo.txt line containing a date/time stamp of the last synchronisation. Would that be acceptable?

It would make GTD Sync more robust if it could store backups for the last 5 or more synchronisations. But to make that useful you need to take up sync information in todo.txt itself. I do not like that idea, so I have put this user story on status wont-fix. It can always be reopened when there is a need to build in more safety.
