#53 User Interface Very Slow

I'm running version 0.6-beta and I've recognised a noticeable lag when switching tabs that is not present in the 0.4.3 stable version. Maybe this is due to different skins being used. In 0.6-beta it is the 'Java GTK skin', while in 0.4.3 it is 'Metal'.

This lag is quite significant and thus slows down the work flow. I know that this is not much information to rely on, but I don't know what else to tell you. This is all the output I get from starting GTD on a console:

I know about the lag, I have just not got around to investigate. Many things has changed between those versions so it not so easy to fix.
