Just upgrade gstreamer core and -base to a current version.  I'm sure there are
updated packages for your distro somewhere, or a version of your distro that
comes with an up-to-date version of GStreamer (if not, ask in the support
channels/forums for your distro how to create packages with the patch applied).
 Installing the patch by itself is non-trivial.
