Hi, all - The time has come to move GSport to Github and get back into the grove of releasing all the great updates that have been contributed. You are all welcome to be committers in the new repo once I get it moved (might even be today). Just let me know privately or via this list what your name is over on Github and I'll add you. Of interest: does anyone have any good ideas what an org name should be, or if an org should be used at all, to house the repo? I made one for ADTPro because there are really two projects it encompasses, but GSport isn't that way. So the repo could be david-schmidt/gsport (not my favorite, but is easy for me to do) or it could grow an org and be GSport/gsport (also not my favorite, since an org seems superfluous for only one thing). Any thoughts out there? - David |

Hi guys. Just in case anyone else has had this problem on Windows. Alt-Tabbing away from GSport will leave Alt down. Tabbing back and pressing F4 will kill the app. I've checked in a fix that forces all keys up on tabbing away. Cheers, Nick. |

To answer my own question, the ZipGS has the same disable sequence as the Zip chip. When the Zip disable sequence is used, the GSport emulator still reports the current speed as unlimited.Should the GSport speed reflect the actual speed the emulated GS is running at in this case? I just checked in an interesting if minor change to video.c: "Corrected some of the standard 16 colours for TEXT/LORES/HIRES/DHIRES with RGB values extracted from ROM 3 IIgs video signals by Koichi Nishida." So I've managed to get the pointers shadowing each other in all combinations: - Super hires (tested GSOS, 816/Paint) - Non super hires (tested Dazzle Draw, 816/Paint) - windowed - fullscreen The changes I've made break "warp mode", so I'm still trying to understand why we need it? Who uses it? When? Warp mode probably looked more authentic previously, but if the normal non-warp mode hid the OS cursor, maybe warp mode wouldn't be necessary. Cheers, Nick. |

Sure. I'm talking here about "warp mode" off. It's annoying to turn it on because then the mouse is captured in the Window. In GSOS, not fullscreen, the mouse cursors "shadow each other" in the same location, which is nice. In GSOS, fullscreen, as you say the mouse cursors have different scales but the whole screen is accessible. I would prefer it if they still shadowed each other. If I use Dazzle Draw I can only get the emulated mouse cursor halfway down the screen. At that point the Windows mouse cursor leaves the window and the emulated mouse stops moving. So I expect the same problem in other software .... which doesn't happen in AppleWin. The mouse cursors shadow each other there. Cheers, Nick. |

Would you be more specific about how "the scaling seems wrong"? After a bit more work on my feature I'll need to create a branch to check my stuff into so others can have a look. In doing this I noticed the mouse doesn't always behave in GSport. E.g. if you go fullscreen on Windows the movement scaling is off. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it only on Windows? I'm assuming something is missing - like looking at the mouse clamping for the scaling. I can look into it, but thought I'd ask here first to see if anyone else has already had a look. Cheers, Nick. The reason for removal would be to eliminate mostly redundant code and to avoid having to maintain two separate sets of printing code. When I was rewriting the Epson emulator into an ImageWriter emulator, I found numerous bugs that I fixed in the process that I haven't back ported. |

My 2c:Software that needed printing capability written before the ImageWriter was available usually had a Parallel card with Epson option.I would expect that an Apple II emulator was capable of allowing 'printing' from such software. Even though KEGS/gSport doesn't block the key input from the desktop manager, there are emulators which does. It would be an interesting execercise to determine how VirtualBox does it and apply that functionality here--it would be needed on Linux, Solaris, Windows, and Mac hosts. Just to wrap up the first part of this. Geoff Body has ascertained that BC/FF48 is within the TWGS ROM space.Pixie makes calls to the TWGS ROM code. The entry point it uses is not currently supported in GSport. Accessing GSBug works in KEGS and I am pretty sure the keyboard code is identical in gSport. There is code in place in xdriver.c for the Windows Menu key to represent the IIgs Option key, at least on Solaris and derivities. GSBug is accessed by Control-FlyingWindows-WindowsMenu-Esc. On Linux, the WindowsMenu key is OpenApple and the FlyingWindows key is an unknown key code. Some IfDefs will be needed in the source to handle Xorg on different operating systems.
