Hey Jeffrey,
I wanted to install gscan2pdf on a OpenSUSE Leap 15.4 machine. It's not in the official repo, but a found the repo of Dirk Müller here: https://software.opensuse.org/package/gscan2pdf. When installing, it asks me to install about 3000 (!!!) tex-live* packages. Is this intended? Can it be circumvented somehow? Thx!
gscan2pdf has no dependency on tex. You would have to ask Dirk Müller why the are being pulled in.
He did not answer.
But I managed to install it from another repo. Tex-live packages installation could be avoided using the "--no-recommends" option of zypper.
You can mark this solved.
