It looks as though scanimage has a similar bug, as although the images
have different sizes, the resolution is quoted as the same for all.
Perhaps it would be worth reporting the bug to SANE.

Otherwise, the logic is what I expected, so I'll do my best to implement it.

I'll let you know when I have something for you to test.
