Hi, I'm using openSUSE Leap and can't get gscan2pdf installed.
First, I downloaded the rpm (gscan2pdf-1.4.0-1.Suse.src.rpm) and tried rpm -i <rpm file=""> but got warnings "user jeff does not exist - using root" after which install ended (failed).
Then, I tried the same with .Suse.noarch.rpm but got dependency failures which I can't resolve (libtiff-tools, sane-frontends & sane-utils).
At last I tried to build from source which "seems" like it worked but of course not all dependencies are installed that way and can't start the program...

Please advice, TIA.

    I only run Debian here, so I can only ask others to test RPMs for me. I've played with the dependency list. Please try this.

    Thanks for ultra-fast reply :)

    With the new list I get several perl packages still missing. Trying to find which corresponds with correct openSUSE package. Found most of them but 5 I have no clue about :/

    I've attached my findings in gscan2pdf.txt.

      If I understand correctly, you are missing the following four dependencies:

      ??? (Gtk2::Ex::Simple::List)
      ??? (Gtk2::ImageView)
      ??? (Sane)
      ??? (Set::IntSpan)

      This is strange, as none of these new. What version of gscan2pdf were
      you running before?

    I wasn't running gscan2pdf before - this is my first time install.

    In the end it's only a matter of finding a repo which has the required packages, so I've been searching on https://build.opensuse.org and found devel:/languages:/perl/.
    Those aren't available by default on openSUSE, that was a bit confusing for me.

    So now I could build from source and v1.4.0 is running :)

    Thnks !

      Ah. OK.

      In that case, would you mind testing the 1.4.1 RPM I previously
      attached to see if it installs, now that you can resolve all its
      dependencies?

    Hmm I get following output:

    Preparing packages...
    gscan2pdf-1.4.1-1.Suse.noarch
    /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.jVrHwL: line 1: fg: no job control
    warning: %post(gscan2pdf-1.4.1-1.Suse.noarch) scriptlet failed, exit status 1

    But maybe something in my system is screwed up with all the trial-and-error I did today...
