    Guys,
My son wanted to remove Grub2win from his Windows10 laptop and deleted all the Grub2win folders and files he could find.
I see now that there is still a boot entry with grub2win in the Bios.
How to remove this? ReinstallGrub2win and uninstall or another simple method?

I tried this method and it did not uninstall. It leads me to Control Panel, where there is no entry to Grub2Win. The apps list in Windows 10 does not list it either.

Why do you think it didn't uninstall Jason? Do you have a c:\grub2 folder? Do you have an \EFI\ grub2win folder on your EFI drive? Does it show in the boot menu? Do you have other OSs installed on your system?

    Hi Isaac,

Yes, the uninstall was changed in mid July with version 2.1.4.6.
The procedure is in the Grub2Win help "Uninstalling Grub2Win" topic.

Basically, you should now use the normal Windows uninstall control panel.

I personally think the Uninstall button should remain with it's actions directed to performing the Control Panel's uninstall function. Thus a user can use eithor option to unstall the app.

Hi, I am reacting here since this topic came up when I search for uninstall. I can not Uninstall Grub2Win! In Grub2Win is no blue "uninstall" button. And in "Software" there is no entry for Grub2Win. I searched for no uninstall script in the program folder, but did not find.. Using Windows 7 pro x64 on an HP Elitebook 8440p. I will manually remove the software but that is unnecessary time consuming since I have to invoke regedit. See attached images....

As I said previously the blue Uninstall button should remain and be an interface to the regedit uninstall function.

    Hey Ed,

The regedit uninstall won't work. The problem is that Marcel's registry never updated with the Grub2Win entries when he installed Grub2Win. Therefore there is no uninstall for Grub2Win in the control panel. The blue uninstall button was phased out long ago. But even if it was there, it wouldn't work because the registry entries are missing.

I have no idea why Marcel's registry did not update when he did the install. That very simple registry code has run for years without errors. Possibly antivirus software interfered.

    Hi Marcel,

The Grub2Win registry entries failed to update when you installed Grub2Win. That is the reason you don't see an entry for Grub2Win in the control panel.

I don't know why your registry did not update. Did you see any error messages during the Grub2Win setup? It is also possible that your antivirus software interfered with the registry update.

Please let me know, and I will advise you on a manual uninstall procedure.

    Thanks,

    Dave
