I have BIOS boot mode (EFI normally enabled in BIOS, Intel mb from 2010-2011, BIOS updated), active & boot partition on small MBR drive (Vista-32), main OS (Win7-64) at sdd5 3TB GPT, no ESP.
Any menu config provides error when trying to apply. Error dlg shows starting from "-c ...", in a few seconds Grub2Win (5.2.9, latest download) shows on the red background: grub.cfg completed successfully... Updating the BCD... *** Grub2Win set up BCD failed ***.
No BCD entry created. Last EasyBCD beta 2.3 also has BCD entry and does BCD menu changes OK.
What might cause the problem?
BTW is there any way to add the appropriate Grub2Win BCD entry via EasyBCD or Visual BCD Editor?
TIA!

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I suspect your problem is due to the somewhat unusual mixed mode of your
system. You are booting from a 32 bit Vista system and loading 64 bit
Windows 7. This is an environment I have not tested.
BCDedit.exe, the Microsoft update utility for BCD is sensitive to mixed
mode. A couple questions:
Is the Vista boot partition the C: drive?
Which partition is in control of the PC when you run Grub2Win.exe?
Please send me the Grub2Win log file "C:\grub2\update.log" so I can look
into this for you. I may need to set up a special workaround for this issue.
Hope this helps,
Dave
