Hi Agustin,

Thanks for your reply (but it has gone to my spam list).

Anyway, the gridsim examples show to setup the environment and start the
simulation. Once I call start simulation, it will simulate the
workload/gridlets without stopping. What I want is a way to submit a
gridlet, get the result, submit another gridlet, get the result kind of
scenario. Can you please let me know the way to do that if I can do it?

This Nahla Abid, a graduate student at Bowling Green State University, U.S.
I am doing a research on GridSim and I have a concern regarding to the Visual Modeler for the GridSim.
According to GridSim website, the Visual Modeler says that it is no longer supported.
May I know why since it simplifies the learning process of GridSim?

When we tried to run GridSim toolkit version 5 on one node in the cluster of our university under unix environment, we faced this problem as followes:

Grid Sim allow me make a work simulation about of performance evaluation in
an environment Grid Computing about of scheduling of jobs and process ? It
only, (without saying that it is somehow) or GridSim allowme more approach
in Grid Computing how emerging technology of Distributed Computing. This
last comment, from the perspective of applications on a grid
infraestructure,  or security about of environments federation and
applicatiosn developments (i review about of CloudSim, his other framework
of Cloud Computing, that says it)

CloudSim and GridSim have the API java-based for work in the frameworks.

Anyway my questions are also to support that i can get about of mailing
lists and the API in Grid Sim.
These is not discontinnued really ?
Also, i am the papers and related work make with GridSim in the differents
references to guide me.

[GridSim-users] how to build GridSim based resource discovery simulations?

Dear all,

I am trying to execute Example1 under gridsim package. It worked fine with command line. However, it receives error while trying with JCreator. The 3 errors are,

1.      '(' or '[' expected at line 155

2.      '(' or '[' expected at line 160

3.      Cannot access gridsim.GridResource
Please note that I received the errors even I added the gridsim library into my JCreator project.

1. A user code will create a gridlet representing a job it has
2. gridlet is given to gridsim and it will either successfully run (simulate

[GridSim-users] How to get current load on GridResource?

Hi all,

        I am testing a Scheduling Algorithm in GirdSim. This scheduling
algorithm is designed to minimize makespan & flowtime. For my algo, I need
to get current load on resource and waiting time for Gridlet. How can I do
that?

      My grid experiment scenario have 16 resources (SPACE_SHARED), each
resource has a single machine and a machine has only one PE with MIPS rating
of  950. And it has 512 gridlets and length of every gridlet is 250500000
(with single PE only).


      To get current load on GridResource, I used
<ResourceCalendarOfResource>.getCurrentLoad(), but this always gives me 0.0.
And I don't think it is giving correct load.
And gridlet.getWaitingTime() is also giving 0.0 all the time.

So plz suggest me, how can I get correct Workload on resource and waiting
for gridlets?

them among all the resources?Cause i noticed that with 8 resources 
avaible GridSim, submits all the users jobs only on two of them....it is 
no-sense,i think...don't you?

i'm trying to deal with the problem to perform a simulation with a baud 
rate of 10Gbps, when i type this value in bps into var baud_rate, 10 000 
000 000, it says to me that  "the literal 10 000 000 000 of type int is 
out of range".
Some suggestion to deal with that problem?
