#490 What do the forward slash buttons do?

There are Forward Slash buttons next to the "Search in", "Exclude dir", "File names match", and many other text fields in GrepWin. I click most of these, they do not do anything. What are they for?

I assumed initially these were supposed to give you a drop-down list of previous values in the field, sorted with most recent at the top. However I am only able to access previous search values by starting to type a substring of it in the text box. I find this unintuitive.

Yes, they will give you a drop-down list of previous values. But only a list of items that match what's already entered. For the "search in" box for example, if you have

C:\abcde
C:\abcfg
C:\abchi
C:\mnopq

in the "previously used" list, and the edit box has the text "C:\abcde" already filled in, the list won't show. But if the box has only "C:\abc" filled in, the list will show with three entries.

Maybe that's the confusion then. I think it should show regardless of
what's already entered. The intent is to pick my next search, replacing
what is already entered.
