GQview is, so far, the best FOSS image manager out
there, even if a bit rough around the edges.
I would like to be able to click on the text of a
category/keyword favorite, to checkmark the category.
It is inconvenient to aim, click twice, the move back
to the scroll bar or image to go on. Especially when I
want to rapidly click through 4-6 category names, and
sort 400 or more images at one sitting.
This would attract many users (and developers) who need
a fast sorting method.
(Side note: The keyword favorites box is too short,
vertically. I have 90+ keywords)
(Side note 2: When changing keywords on multiple
images, the images should not lose independent category
names. For example, if I have two imagess, one in
"brother" category and another in "sister" category,
and I highlight both to add them both to "vacation"
category, GQview currently removes them both from
"brother" and "sister" and adds them both to "vacation".
Thanks,

As an alternative The sort manager, like the keywords
manager, might show which directories and collections a
picture was already in (using grayed icon or text instead of
a check mark).

This works for me on the keywords sidebar, where are you
having to double click?.
Regarding note 1: The comment entry is scheduled to be
reduced to a fixed height of 2 or 3 lines, you should get a
little more room for the keyword list.
Regarding note 2: There are two buttons to add the current
'keyword selection' to the 'multiple selection', one adds
and the other replaces (the tooltip will describe which does
what).

Perhaps it has something to do with my Gnome setup, but when
I try to click on an item with a checkbox beside it, I have
to click the /checkbox/ -- clicking the text /beside/ the
checkbox does not change the state of the checkbox.
