Hi there! GpsMid is IMHO still the best in some disciplines like pedestrian navigation. So I'm actually still using it especially when on holidays. But with a mobile on Android 13 unfortunately with GpsMid it's no more possible to load a map - it simply does not find the "/"-path when trying to choose a map file. This is probably because of scoped storage or storage access framework... I'm no more deep into development especially not Android. But I'd really like to setup a development environment...

Hi, if I run it from the console I get messages as Server returned HTTP response code: 429. Taking a guess that this could have something to do with Tile Usage Policy (https://operations.osmfoundation.org/policies/tiles/). Apparently OSM website does not like the agent string GpsMid is sending (Java/1.8.0_242 in my case). I'd recommend you to download an area of your choice using JOSM and then load it via Load .osm.bz2/.osm.pbf dropdown. The other option is to fix this in the source code.

Hello, I wanted to create a new map but even if I download the map data, it wont show anything in the convert program. I cannot see any kind of map on the convert program. I would like to ask what could be the problem? It has a white colour on the place where the map has to be shown. Thank you for your help guys in advance.

I have some problems on Blackberry with the option "keep the screen on". If I set that option, the app stop booting until it uninstalls-reinstall. So I would prefer to edit the config.cfg file directly from the PC. But on the notepad it is not displayed. What editor can I use?

Es complicado, aunque fácil a primera vista. Los mapas que descargas de OSM están en formato vectorial, tienes que rasterizarlos a formato de mapas de bits con la herramienta que GPSMid tiene para esta tarea. Buscala en el directorio de descargas de GPSmid se llama Osm2GpsMid-0.8.2-map72.jar y se ejecuta desde el PC. Luego tienes que crear un fichero.cmd desde el block de notas con el contenido que discto a continuación y guardarlo en la misma carpeta: cmd /k java -Xmx1536M -XX:NewRatio=32 -jar Osm2GpsMid-0.8.2-map72.jar...

It's a pity that this link is not spun. Reading the help of GPSMid this points only towards the maps of 2012. I have encopontrado this post of chance. After downloading all the maps that you have available, I would like to report that the map of Russia is defective. This only measures 625 KiB.

hello, i sorry if i dont have and good knowledge about this topic , but this maps of this link i was trying to Gpsmid java version can read them some of the maps of the next link but any one can be readed by gpsmid(this is the link: http://download.geofabrik.de/north-america.html ) , i do put the path properly in gpsmid , the only one map than can be readed is an old one from 2012 i mean the unpacked zip

hi, fantastic uptate im was using the 2012 compilated build, but sadly is no my contry in this news ones compilations of gpsmid, please can tell me how i can compile one for mexico i want have a map with great detail, i did downoladed the build of this link (http://download.geofabrik.de/north-america.html) but unfortunately the gpsmid cant read them properly anyone these maps of my country , i do using still java version of gpsmid perhaps this ist the fail , can you confirm if this maps just work...
