GPSBabel is not primary "in the fitness business", but handles most of the stuff anyway. It is still my candidate for read write all type of data related to GPS devices. Compare to Geocahing - a little more than just GPS info (even if fitness is further away). What is primarily missing now is Lap (Split) data. I have taken a look at the source code and GPSBabel has some code for reading from Garmin devices (that is the only I can test right anyway). The code is however "#ifdef XXX" and there are no way to request the data. I have listed the steps I believe is appropriate, but the ultimate goal is quite far away. Actually, I will fulfill most of my needs with the first step, but if someone has opinions about the other, I will be happy. "Plan": Getting lap info from a device and dump it (could be enabled with debug) Add option that gets lap info? (like -t/rw or specific for garmin usb?) Save lap to any format, like in field DESCRIPTION Save lap to internally handled format (all fields separately) Save lap info to Garmin Training Center (gtrnctr) format Make gtrnctr a readable format Add new Garmin Training center format (tcx) for read/write Get a common lap format, for example GPX. One format is LoadMyTracks Extend this to include other type of fitness data like workouts, user profile? -- Gerhard The sender address really contains .nospam. |
