There is also an earlier reference in the mailing l= ist archives back in February, I think, that I found. I have been digging around looking at the problem. What I do know is that = a lot of people are having problems with USB on Ubuntu / Kubuntu with the K= ernel 2.6.20 (Fiesty). The general consensus seems to be that it is due to= the kernel config CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND=3Dy which is marked as 'experimental'. I've considered recompiling the kernel with CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND=3Dn, but the= re are very sketchy instructions on recompiling kernels in Ubuntu. So I've= decided to wait and see if it gets fixed in the short term. >From what I can tell the problem is fixed upstream.=20 References: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/85488 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/110806 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=3D432130&highlight=3Dusb Hope that helps.
