I am having difficulties using GPSBabel 1.3.3 to download data from a Garmin Gecko 301 onto my mac using a IOGear USB to Serial Adapter (http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GUC232A). IOGear uses a Prolific Technology Inc. controller (http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=23). I am using the lastest driver from Prolific. Same problems existed with older Prolific driver shipped by IOGear. Thus far I have been using Topo! 4.2.8 to download GPS data. However, it converts tracks to waypoints (and/or makes a freehand route) and I would like to download tracks as tracks. I noticed the problem first when trying to use GPSPhotoLinker (http://oregonstate.edu/~earlyj/gpsphotolinker/tracks.php) and then in GPSBabel+. GPSBabel+ does not produce an error but fails to create the file. Looking at prior posts it appears that this is a know issue with GPSBabel+. (I also use Grass and QGis.) Anyway, here are the debug messages from the command line. $ ./gpsbabel -D9 -w -i garmin -f /dev/cu.usbserial GPSBabel Version: 1.3.3 Tx Data:10 fe 00 02 10 03 : ...(PRDREQ ) Rx Data:10 06 02 fe 00 fa 10 03 ..
