The attached file is a GDB file made from converting a Garmin TAB delimited
file that was first converted from the CSV I sent a sample to you and later
hand manipulated to introduce time, speed, etc.
As you can see, this attached file is what I want to end up with but without
the trouble to cut and paste excel files.
Can it be done ?

It's not a conversion issue.  Mapsource does not store what
you seem to want it to store.

Find a program that does store speed data if programs recomputing
speed from position fixes doesn't work for you.
