After using the latest GPSBabel Beta to translate a lot of track files from GPS TrackMaker (.GTM) format to .GPX (and deleting the originals) I discovered that all track point times have been shifted forward by 3 hours. I am now engaged in the laborious task of determining (from photo time stamps!) which files originated as GTM -> PLT -> GPX (the old way - which works without a hitch) and which ones used the GTM -> GPX translation. In case any of you use GPS TrackMaker and wonder why I don't simply have that program write to GPX - that function REMOVES some (but not all) track point time stamps during the translation process (in addition to generating a GPX without any line breaks!), the gtm -> plt -> gpx way was my workaround until version 1.2.8 og GPSBabel. Needless to say time stamps have taken on a new importance now that photos can be "location stamped" after the fact if you have an old track file lying around and the photos themselves were properly timestamped. I guess "Caveat Emptor" would apply if the software weren't free :-) Leifur -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/V-1.2.8-Beta-GTM--%3E-GPX-Bug--t1251628.html#a3316587 Sent from the GPSBabel - General forum at Nabble.com. |
